Growing up, Kenneth's mother was unable to care for him, due to her mental health. His mom struggled with stability, health and peace. By practicing a mindset of care, Kenneth is on a journey to decriminalize mental health and help others to make systematic changes in their changes. He shares the following nuggets of life wisdom:
- practice 'trauma-informed approach'
- go into conversation with a mindset of care
- be open minded and open ended
- mental health affects everyone
- give ourselves grace
- recognize when something is beyond our ability or emotional capacity
- power of relationships matter
- strive to create a collective power to work to compel change
